God is incredibly good.
Yesterday, I preached a message about not neglecting the poor as this was one of the sins that got Sodom destroyed.
I challenged the congregation to help somebody, outside of the church setting, who is poor or down trodden with just $5 this week.
Well, today as I was loading items into my truck at Walmart, this man approached me out of nowhere. He said, “I am hungry. Can you help with a little money.”
I could see he was tipsy and could smell the alcohol.
I said, “I’ll tell you what. I won’t give you money but I will take you inside and buy you some food….if you let me pray with you.”
He agreed and I ministered to him as we went inside. He picked a tray of fried chicken, a monster Energy Drink and a bag of Doritos.
The total was $13.83.
We then went to the exit, where I prayed for God to meet his needs and deliver him from his alcoholism.
You see, money can buy you happiness! But it only happens when you spend it on someone else.
I thank God for placing this man in my path today to both allow me to bless him and to affirm the message I delivered yesterday in church.
Faith in action.
